Vision

Samuel’s Trees

The story starts with one man’s vision to bring hope back to his country and to his people.

Manis Dilus purchased a plot of land 2000 in the community where he grew up, Plateau Anse Rouge. The people of the community said that God had abandoned them. The trees were cut for charcoal, and it had been years since there had been a harvest.

The land he purchased in 2005

What it looks like in 2014.

People are beginning to see hope. So how can the vision continue?

Samuel Schӓfer met Manis in 2007 and in 2012 moved to Haiti to work under Manis’s vision. With the desire to see Manis’s vision spread further, he purchased land that had been ravished from years of erosion.

With a LOT of work these are the results in just 9 months.

Can it happen in one year?

2016 Samuel wants to take Manis’s vision and place it in the hands of the community.
Samuel’s desire is to be able to hand the land over with a source for water, a road to get to the land easily by truck, and young men trained to plant and care for trees.

The community has little hope of continuing this vision on its own, but with God and all of us we know the impossible can be possible.

The vision is BIG, and its fruit is for the generations to follow...but it starts with us.
